Margaret Truman Daniel

Margaret Truman Daniel was the daughter of former U.S. President Harry Truman, a popular concert singer, radio and television host, and best-selling author. She also made headlines with her marriage to a striking newspaperman, Clifton Daniel, who later became managing editor of the New York Times. In time, Margaret also became famous for her 32 books, which include biographies of both her parents and 23 mystery novels. The climax of her singing career happened in 1950 when Mrs. Daniels performed a radio concert with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra that drew an audience of about 15 million people. Over the following few years she sang in over 30 cities, performed at Carnegie Hall, and signed an exclusive contract with RCA Victor Red Seal Records.
