Born: 12 April 1957 Birthplace: Norman, Oklahoma Best known as: Country music superstar who did These Days Vince Gill left the pop/country band The Pure Prairie League and in 1984 got a recording contract as a solo artist. During the 1990s Gill hit his stride and had a string of hits, including "When I Call Your Name" and "Worlds Apart." He has won 17 Country Music Awards and 14 Grammy Awards and sold millions of records. In 2000 he married singer Amy Grant.
