Actor known for his roles in action-adventure films that are big on muscle and carnage. His films include the five Rocky films (1976; II, 1979; III, 1981; IV, 1985; V, 1990), the three Rambo movies (First Blood, 1982; Rambo: First Blood Part II, 1985; Rambo III, 1988), and Cliffhanger (1993). He made a move toward polysyllabic characters in Cop Land (1997).
