“Weird Al” Yankovic (Alfred Matthew Yankovic) singer, songwriter, actor Born: 10/23/1959 Birthplace: Lynnwood, California
Yankovic's career as a comedic songwriter began with his first single, “My Bologna” (1979). “Another One Rides the Bus” soon followed, as did a record contract with Scotti Brothers in 1982. His albums include Weird Al Yankovic (1983), Even Worse (1988), and Bad Hair Day (1996). 1999's Running with Scissors features “The Saga Begins” which tells the story of Star Wars:Episode I—The Phantom Menace in 51/2 minutes. He has won two Grammy Awards, directed music videos, and starred in his own television series, The Weird Al Show (1997–98).
