Sandra Oh
actress
Born: November 30, 1970
Birthplace: Nepean, Ontario, Canada

This Canadian actress of Korean heritage first came to widespread attention in 1993, starring in the CBC production of The Diary of Evelyn Lau. Her performance won her the Cannes FIPA d'Or for Best Actress. Her leading role in Double Happiness won her her first Genie award (Canada's equivalent of the Oscar). She spent six seasons in the cast of Arli$$, winning a Cable Ace award for Best Actress in a Comedy. Most of her many film roles have been small, but she garnered widespread attention in the 2004 film Sideways, directed by her then-husband Alexander Payne. (She filed for divorce in April 2005.) Shortly thereafter, she was included in People magazine's “50 Most Beautiful People” list for the first time. Currently, she can be seen on the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
